To better structure our production processes and identify improvement areas, CDA has implemented the SQCDP method, a visual, practical tool that supports daily monitoring and drives quality across operations.
What is SQCDP?
SQCDP stands for Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, and People. Each letter represents a key theme for monitoring production performance.
The objective is straightforward: to centralize essential daily data in one place and enable short, focused, and fact-based meetings aimed at continuous improvement. The system uses visual boards that are shared across all relevant teams.
Each indicator is updated daily or weekly, depending on the process, helping teams spot issues, analyze trends, and take concrete improvement actions.
Gradual implementation at CDA
We began rolling out SQCDP in our labelling department, where machines such as the Ninon Mix, a versatile automatic labeller are developed and tested. Initial feedback allowed us to fine-tune the tracking methods for better performance.
The system was then extended to our filling department, where machines like the K-Net Auto are assembled. The insights gained helped improve parts management and production planning.
Currently, SQCDP is being deployed at our CDU facility (Design, Development, Machining), where critical machine parts are manufactured, including components for the VST, our automatic capper for technical closures.
Dedicated workgroups involving the Machining, Sheet Metal, and Welding workshops have defined the most relevant performance indicators. These metrics will form the foundation for data-driven decisions, directly informed by shop floor realities.

Open analysis of obstacles not only helps resolve current issues but also reinforces team cohesion and shared responsibility for performance.
