The quality of containers and labels

In the packaging process, labelling is often seen as a simple task. However, its success relies on many factors, with one in particular standing out: the quality of containers and labels.
Whether in the cosmetics, wine, or natural products sectors, we understand how much these elements influence the final result.

Why must the bottle, jar, or container be flawless?

A poorly moulded bottle, a jar with rough edges, or a glass with bubbles or irregularities can compromise the label application, even with the best labelling machine. These defects may be visible to the naked eye or only appear once the label is applied, causing it to peel off, wrinkle, or form air bubbles.
For instance, irregularities on conical bottles can disrupt the positioning of the label on a Ninon Konic, even though this machine is specifically designed for containers of this shape.

The quality of the labels

The paper, adhesive, weight, and cut type all influence the label application. Thin labels, poorly stored, or those with low-quality adhesive can cause problems even on precise labelling machines like the Ninon Mix.
Common defects include:

  • Partial label detachment,
  • Formation of air bubbles,
  • Misalignment during application,
  • Label web breakage during the cycle.

Our labelling machines

At CDA, we design labelling machines capable of adapting to a wide range of containers:

  • The Ninette Auto is perfect for small productions and cylindrical formats.
  • The Ninon Konic is designed for conical or irregular containers.
  • The Ninon Mix offers great flexibility in terms of formats.

However, none of these labellers can compensate for a deformed bottle or a poorly manufactured label. Even the finest adjustments or numerous tests cannot overcome such material constraints.

An essential partnership

To ensure perfect label application, it is crucial to choose reliable suppliers for your bottles, jars, and, especially, your labels, to guarantee consistent quality. This begins with representative samples, which we test during the start-up phase of our machines.
A simple batch defect or a change of supplier can compromise the performance of an entire line.

Quality is everything

The performance of a packaging line depends as much on the machine as it does on the components used.
