Precise and high-performance packaging solutions

The e-liquid market imposes high standards in terms of regulatory compliance and product safety. Manufacturers must rely on packaging machines adapted to their constraints: the dosing of a multitude of recipes. The cleanability of the machine is essential in this sector: both in terms of simplicity and speed of execution.

Fillers, cappers, labellers and monoblocks constitute the essential equipment for building a packaging line adapted to e-liquid bottles (10 ml to 250 ml).

Fillers: mastering dosing

The filler is the first stage of e-liquid packaging. It must ensure precise dosing (particularly for nicotine liquids) and adapt to different viscosities (PG/VG).

2 dosing techniques are suited to this sector:

  • the peristaltic pump,
  • or piston dosing.

CDA offers both techniques and can include them on the same filler in order to allow dosing of all recipes on it.

K-One : Filling e-liquid product bottles requires great precision, particularly if the chosen process is semi-automatic. The K-One peristaltic pump, designed by CDA, offers one of the best filling accuracies on the market with a margin of error of +/- 1%. Its fast rate allows filling up to 1500 bottles of 10 ml per hour.

The main advantages of peristaltic pump filling are:

  • A good filling accuracy,
  • Fast format changes (only changing the tube to change recipe),
  • High cleanability (the liquid does not come into contact with the pump body),
  • Very good adaptation to small containers, particularly for filling doses between 1 ml and 1 L.

The disadvantages are as follows:

  • Significant use of “consumables”: tubes may be changed frequently to be compatible with the dosed recipe.
  • Its speed may not be sufficient for large volumes.

Cappers: safety and compliance

E-liquid bottles require safety caps and dropper tips. The consistency of capping is essential to guarantee compliance with market requirements.

At CDA, the VS 100, a compact semi-automatic capper, ensures precise control of tightening torque. Easy to use, the VS 100 is equipped with a two-hand control and allows adjustment of the screwing torque directly on the head.

For an automatic solution, we offer the VS 400 which has the same features as the VS100 but in automatic mode.

CDA has also designed and manufactured the VS 2000, an enclosed automatic capping machine that offers automatic feeding AND automatic capping of caps. Versatile, capable of handling a wide range of caps from Ø20 mm to 75 mm, this capper can be equipped with a gripper or a lug head.

A vibrating bowl conveys the caps to a multi-format belt conveyor, equipped with a cap presence detection sensor. A drawer system then conveys the cap to the capping head of the VS 2000. The capping, as well as torque adjustment, are carried out by a brushless motor. The VS 2000 offers a high-performance and reliable automatic capping solution to meet your packaging needs.

Labellers: enhancement and regulation

Labelling in the e-liquid sector is highly regulated: pictograms, nicotine level, legal notices, batch numbers.

In order to meet the sector requirements as well as the specific needs of e-liquid formats, CDA has designed and manufactured the Ninette Auto Mini.

The Ninette Auto Mini is a semi-automatic labeller adapted to small cylindrical products. Its adjustable and interchangeable applicator allows it to label containers from 20 mm in diameter. Ultra-compact, this labelling machine is efficient for small productions, offering a rate of 10 products/minute.

For automatic labelling, the Solo is required. Designed for applying a self-adhesive label, this machine has a pacing system that allows containers to be conveyed to the labelling station. The labelling station (3-point technique) ensures fast, precise and efficient application of self-adhesive labels. The rate of the Solo labeller can reach 25 products/minute.

Monoblocks: compactness and optimisation

For manufacturers seeking a compact solution, monoblocks combine several functions in a single machine.

The E-Fill, one of CDA’s monoblocks, integrates filling, capping and labelling in an optimised structure, ideal for packaging e-liquid bottles.

Monoblocks act as a complete line and notably allow:

  • A perfect saving of space,
  • Good synchronisation of operations,
  • An optimised investment.

The E-Fill SW is, for its part, one of our other monoblock-type machines. It offers two distinct operating modes to meet the specific needs of your production:

  • In full automatic mode, ideal for large product series, it integrates the Pick & Place system, which ensures automatic placement and capping of caps.
  • In switch mode, on the other hand, it is suited to packaging small and medium series, with the possibility of manually placing caps on the bottles. This switch mode allows great flexibility without requiring tedious handling or adjustments.

The rate of the E-Fill SW can reach up to 3000 bottles per hour (i.e. 50 products per minute) for 10 ml formats. In addition, it can be equipped with two labelling stations, which allow the application of 2 self-adhesive labels per container.

FAQ: Machines for e-liquid packaging

Which filler should be chosen to dose a 10 ml e-liquid bottle?

For packaging small formats, a precise and flexible filler is essential. The K-One is particularly suited to small and medium production rates. For a more compact solution integrating filling, capping and labelling, the E-Fill monoblock is a perfect alternative.

How to guarantee precise dosing?

Dosing accuracy is essential in the e-liquid market. The use of a peristaltic pump ensures reliable, consistent filling compliant with regulatory requirements, even on small volumes such as 10 ml.

Can several bottle formats be packaged on the same machine?

Yes. CDA machines are designed to be modular and allow quick format changes. This is particularly useful in the e-liquid sector where references are numerous, both in terms of volume and recipes (10 ml, 50 ml, 100 ml…).

Why opt for a monoblock for e-liquid packaging?

A monoblock makes it possible to centralise filling, capping and labelling operations in a single machine. Result:
Space saving,
Operation synchronisation,
Reduction of handling,
Controlled investment.

It is a particularly relevant solution for manufacturers seeking compactness and automation of packaging.
